Safety/ Health and Environment

Carbacid has a dedicated Safety, Health andEnvironment (SHE) Department. Our purpose is to operate in safe working conditions and to ensure that Carbacid, in the course of its business, causes no harm to people or the environment. Our employees are continuously improving their integrated SHE competency through training. We are proactive in assessing and mitigating risk and SHE standards and procedures are part of our business strategy.

We regularly conduct Safety Awareness Workshops for users of cylinder gases in industrial environments - often simply referred to as "Industrial Gases" - to give participants a firm understanding of the key safety issues associated with the handling, storage and use of cylinder gases within industrial environments. The workshops develop risk awareness through the identification of hazards found in everyday situations. Participants  learn about the gas safety issues relative to their specific roles, together with the steps required to maintain safe working conditions.

An understanding of hazards and the ability to assess risks within industry is vital in today's Health and Safety conscious workplace and these workshops help to develop these critical skills as well as helps staff to improve their knowledge and awareness of the compressed gases used within their particular working environment

Carbacid recongnises the concerns on environmental impact and has adopted a systematic approach to environmental management in order to achieve continual improvement of our contribution to the protection and enhancement of both the local and global environment by committing;

  • To reduce and prevent pollution and waste and take positive action to conserve water, energy and other resources (particularly where non-renewable); and ensure waste disposal and effluent treatment are dealt with in a responsible manner;
  • To promote environmental awareness through our interactions with all other stakeholders;
  • To ensure compliance with all applicable environmental legislation;
  • To co-operate with environmental regulatory bodies;
  • To provide information and training necessary for employee involvement in meeting the objectives of this policy;
  • To maintain contingency plans to minimize the impact of foreseeable environmental incidents;
  • To assess and monitor the environmental impact of our activities and develop ways of minimizing it;
  • To adhere to programmes for achieving environmental objectives and targets and progress these via management review.
